Obituary of Anna Teresa STANTE

December 23, 1931 – Pescara, Italy June 4, 2013 – Calgary, Alberta Anna Stante, beloved wife of the late Luigi Stante and dear mother and Nonna, passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at the age of 81 years. Anna was born on December 23, 1931 in Pescara, Italy. She later immigrated to Canada, leaving her native Italy and all her friends and family to embrace her new life. Anna and Luigi were married on March 18, 1957 by proxy and they celebrated their marriage on December 7, 1957. Educated in Fashion Design and Pattern Making, Anna was a seamstress extraordinaire. She was an active member at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Parish (formerly Our Lady of Grace Italian and English Catholic Church) and the Calgary Italian Club. Anna’s greatest passion was her family. She loved deeply and was especially endeared to children and anything small and vulnerable. In 2007, Anna fulfilled a dream of taking her entire family to her favorite vacation spot in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico. Anna is survived by her two daughters, Marcella and Renata; two grandsons, Dylan and Ivan; sister Lidia; and brothers, Enio and Benito. Anna was predeceased by her husband Luigi Stante; parents Pietro and Caterina; sister Maria; brothers, Francesco and Nicola. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Friday, June 7, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Parish (formerly Our Lady of Grace Italian and English Catholic Church) (1714 – 14th Avenue N.E.) on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Mausoleum.
