Obituary of Evelyn G. LANGE

LANGE, Evelyn G. 1917- Jasper, Alberta 2013- Canmore, Alberta Evelyn passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at the age of 95 years. She was the daughter of Melvin and Emma Taylor of Jasper, Alberta. There, she and her three brothers enjoyed a happy childhood. She met Paul Lange when they both worked for Jasper National Park and they married in 1949. In quick succession they had three children, Jan, Bruce and Patrick. While in the service of Parks Canada they moved to Ottawa, Halifax, Riding Mountain National Park, Winnipeg and finally Banff before retiring to Calgary. Paul and Evelyn loved to travel and saw the world together. Destinations included Asia, South America, Europe, the Middle East, Mexico, Alaska, as well as numerous cruises. In her later years Evelyn enjoyed her position as a volunteer in the Kirby Centre Library. She loved music, singing, dancing, playing bridge, doing jigsaw and crossword puzzles. More importantly, she was a devoted wife, mother and champion of her children’s endeavours. In her final days, Evelyn was well cared for by the doctors and nurses of Canmore General Hospital. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, children and grandchildren Eden, Wyatt and Val, and also by her oldest brother, Harold Taylor. She will also be remembered by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Evelyn is predeceased by her two brothers, Clarence and Patrick. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Luke’s Catholic Church (Corner of Northmount Drive & Northland Drive N.W.) on Monday, May 27, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
