Obituary of Nancy Mary McCUAIG

1931 – Okla, SK 2013 – Calgary, AB It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Nancy M. McCuaig, on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at the age of 81 years. Nancy was the youngest of six sisters and one brother born to Rosie and George Ward of Okla, SK. She joined the Royal Canadian Armed Forces in 1951, becoming a Radar Technician and obtaining a rank of Corporal. While stationed in Ontario, she met her future husband Ross. They married in 1956 and settled in Sarnia, ON, raising two sons. Nancy and Ross moved west to Calgary in May of 1976. She enjoyed being closer to her siblings here and worked as an assistant manager at Fabricland. Nancy’s interests included sewing, needlepoint, gardening, camping and travel. Nancy is survived by two sons and their spouses William McCuaig (Linda) and Robert McCuaig (Kim); two grandchildren, Andrea Rockwood (Mike) and Jennifer McCuaig; great-grandchild Layla Rockwood; and her sister Daisy Gunson. She was predeceased by her loving husband Ross McCuaig.
