Obituary of Wendy Reta TURNBULL

June 5, 1947 – April 28, 2013 It is with great sadness that Wendy’s family announces her passing. Wendy, daughter of Sam and Reta Brown, was born and grew up in High River, AB. She loved being the mother of Nathan (Kirsten) and Shauna, and Grams to Jack. She is also survived by siblings, Deirdre McEachern, Pamela Brown, James Brown (Shadie), Gillian Brown (Greg), and cousin Margaret Harris (Charlie). She had cousins, nieces, nephews and friends who will miss her loving presence. Wendy was passionate about cooking and became a best-selling author with cookbook Gems of Gluten-free Baking. She was committed to many organizations: Living Spirit United Church, Canadian Federation of University Women, Calgary Celiac Association, and Calgary Peer Support Services for Abused Women. A celebration of this beautiful woman will be held Living Spirit United Church (629 – 49th Avenue S.W.) on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Donations may be directed to Living Spirit, where a memorial garden will be developed, or a charity of your choice.
