Obituary of Mary-Ann CLARK

August 31, 1961 – April 21, 2013 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our adored wife and mother, Mary-Ann Clark on Sunday, April 21, 2013 at the age of 51 years after a three year battle with cancer. Mary-Ann was born in Port Hope, Ontario, however the family moved back east where she grew up on the eastern coast of New Brunswick. She was very proud of her Acadian French heritage and fondly remembers summers at Parlee Beach in Shediak, N.B. In the spring of 1986, after completing her business diploma at College de Bart in Old Quebec City, she boarded a greyhound bus for a gruelling seven day trip to Whitehorse, Yukon to visit her sister and learn to speak English. It was there that she met the love of her life, Bob. They were complete soul mates from the moment they met. They moved to Victoria in 1989 and were married in the UVic chapel on December 30, 1989. They spent their honeymoon moving into a basement suite before classes started for the second semester. The family moved to Calgary in 1993. Mary-Ann worked as an advisor for the federal government and finally at Petro Canada. However, her passion was her family and attending their various activities. They were first and always foremost in her heart. Mary-Ann is survived by her husband Bob; her three wonderful children Keegan, Sarah and Josh; mother Emerise Bourque of Ste-Joseph de Beauce; sisters Louise Bourque (Roger), Quebec, and Johanne Bourque (Ed), Whitehorse; and brother Claude (Jessie), China; Bob’s parents Norm and Joan; his sisters, Cindy Roberts (Jim), Carole Goodreau (Leroy) and Deb (Fairbanks) Stewart (Iain). She also leaves many nieces and nephews in Alberta, Quebec, Yukon and China; as well as many cousins and numerous friends from coast to coast. Mary-Ann was predeceased by her father Louis and brother-in-law Stew Fairbanks. Mary-Ann lived these last years with courage and calmness. She was an inspiration to all. We’ll see you again my love.
