June 19, 1923 – April 2, 2013 It is with great sadness that our family announce the sudden passing of our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 in Calgary at the age of 89 years. Judy was born in Ottawa, Ontario, June 19, 1923. She grew up in Portage du Fort area and as a young woman moved to Ottawa to work and there she met the love of her life, Paul McKay. They were married on January 4, 1945 in Winnipeg and settled on Cote St. in St Boniface to raise their family of four children. Judy was very proud of all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Judy worked at the Bay credit office in Winnipeg for many years until Ma & Pa decided to retire to Calgary in 1985. Judy enjoyed many social activities including the Skraskins Outdoor Club, hiking and cross-country skiing, weekly card games, volunteering at the food bank, and helping children with reading. Judy and Spud enjoyed weekends at their cottage near Beausejour, MB, and after moving to Calgary spent their spare time in the beautiful mountains they both loved. Recently she was reunited with her family in Florida, and enjoyed two trips there to catch up with her sisters and brother and their families. Judy leaves to mourn her loss four children and their families, Glen (Reta) McKay, Carole (Clark) Sinnott, Rick McKay and Tim (Liz) McKay; grandchildren, Shauna (Blair) Burke and Michelle McKay, Kerry (Brian) Babiuk, Lisa (Craig) Rowbotham, Shane McKay, Travis (Mandy) McKay, Colin McKay, Lindsay McKay (Scott Shaw) and Garrett McKay; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Bhreagh and Brendan Burke, Alex and Matthew Babiuk, Naomi Rowbotham, Riley McKay, Micah and Storm Shaw; sister Lenora Wilson; sister- in- law Margaret Cross; brother-in-law Byron Heyboer; sisters-in-law Mona Sargent and Margaret Duffin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
