Obituary of Betty Irene FREIGHT

June 27, 1921 – March 23, 2013 We are very sad to announce the passing of our loving mother, Betty Irene Freight on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at the age of 91 years. Betty passed away peacefully with her family at her side. Born in 1921 in England, Betty and her family immigrated to Canada in 1958, first to Edmonton and then shortly after to Calgary where she has resided since. Betty worked for the Armed Forces Recruiting Centre in Calgary and was active in the square dance and round dance community in Calgary for many years. Betty and Norman enjoyed a busy and fulfilling life during their retirement years travelling in their trailer, hiking in the Rockies and spending many winter holidays in Hawaii among friends. Betty took special interest and pride in her family always. In very recent years she became friends with many people at CareWest Sarcee and showed kindness and compassion toward all she met. Betty is survived by her son Gordon (Nancy), and daughters Susan (Tim) and Dorothy (Don). She also leaves behind her three grandchildren Brent (Nancy), Scott (Jessica) and Christine, and two great-grandchildren Brooke and Elliot. Betty was predeceased by her loving husband Norman in 2005. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at 11:00a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
