Obituary of Charles FOGARASSY

March 23, 1925 – March 5, 2013 Charles Karoly Fogarassy passed away in Calgary on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at the age of 87 years. He was born in Nagyenyed Hungary. He immigrated to Canada in 1951. Charles worked on a farm for three years, and then moved to Calgary where he met his wife Maria, whom he married in 1955. Charles was a coal miner in England in his early years, and worked at Neon Sales & Service for over 37 years. He spent his weekends on the farm and beekeeping. Charles was a former president of Calgary & District Beekeepers Association. He was a glider pilot in his younger years. Charles is survived by his daughters Maria “Magdi” (Don) Ayers and their children Pam (Stephen Beare) and Brian; Kathleen (Grant) Trevathan and their children Ashley (Pablo Ormachea), Michael, step-daughter Margaret (Steve) Scholly and their children Andrew, Les (Cheryl) and three great grandchildren Landon, Ashton and Noah. Charles is also survived by his long time partner Ilona “Helen” Magas, and her daughters Martha, Gabriella, and Lucy. He is also survived by his brother Attila and his children. Charles was predeceased by parents, wife Maria and his brother Arpad. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so prior to the service from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.
