Condolences
Please except our sincere condolances on the passing of Else (Corky) Shirley she will be sadly missed….Your Sisters of Xi Beta Delta
I had the privelege of styling Corky’s hair for the last 15 years. We always had a good laugh while she was in my chair. I worked very hard to find out her age. I even asked to see her drivers license picture once but she kept her thumb on her birthdate. My sympathies to her family. She was one of a kind.

I enjoyed working with Corky in the Women’s Canadian Club. My sincerest sympahty.
I worked with Elsie at the Credit Union Federation back in the ’70’s -what a delightful lady! For staff birthdays she always made us her famous “Maple Walnut Chiffon Cake”…our boss would hang around and literally lick the plate so that not a crumb was left! I still have the recipe and think of her when I make it…I shared it recently with a lady in Australia – she loved it!
Please accept our true condolences for the loss of a wonderful lady and friend to both Art & I. We worked with Elsie for many years at Credit Union Central. She devoted her time planning many special events for everyone. Art & Deb
My condolences to the family.
I met Corky through the Lakeview Ladies Early Bird golf club where she was president for several years. She was great at the job, a real”people person” and she was missed when she left as I am sure she will be missed by many.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Elsie’s family. Elsie was a very thoughtful lady, a good friend, and a wonderful member of Alberta Central’s Staff. She was always active in planning and organizing Central’s social events, and for many years was the “unofficial” staff photographer. She was a very kind and special person to me and my family and to all who knew her at Central.
Jim Scopick and family.

We remember fondly times shared with Corky at sorority gatherings, many of them in her home. She always shone as a hostess. We visited during intermission at Calgary Philharmonic concerts. Her travel adventures were often the topic of conversation. May precious memories support and sustain you at this difficult time.
A wonderful friend for 42 years. She will be missed by many. As a member of Beta Sigma Phi, Corky contributed so much of her time and talents to our organization. She participated in all of our major events over many years. She was respected by all and loved by many. Farewell dear friend, you can rest easy now. I will miss you. Hugs

Elsie always brought love and humor, sharing delightful stories of family and friends, to the many gatherings we shared wirh Corkey and Trev thru our long association in the business world. Please accept our deepest condolences
Sincerely, Jim and Marian
Elsie was a kind, caring, elegant lady; we have been working together for 12 years in Credit Union Central till she retired. When she still belongs to accounting group, she was the one always baked a birthday cake for us. She even showed me step by step how to bake her wonderful angel food cake at her home. She made a ceramic nut container for one of my birthday and which is one of my favorite collections. There were lots of memory in the old days, you will be missed by all! Please accept my deepest sympathies and may the Lord be with you at this difficult time when you lost your love one.
Blessings, Sandy Tam
Our most sincere condolences. Every Christmas we received a newsy card from Corky – I wondered what happened this past year. I am a cousin of Trevor’s. In fact my sister, Janet, babysat (and I tagged along) when Trev and Corky lived in Edmonton – a long time ago. The last time I saw Corky was in Edmonton. She drove down for the funeral of my mother, Merle Davidson in June 2004. Corky was a great person.
Diane, I haven’t seen you since our G.P.A. days but I saw your Mom’s obituary in the Herald and want to pass on my condolences. Such a sad time, my thoughts are with you.
Our sincere sympathy. Corky was a lovely lady and will be missed by many!
Peace and Blessings,
Alfred and Jeanette Chernow
