Obituary of Mary KAITTING

May 18, 1934 – January 23, 2013 Mary “Baba” Aileen Frances Kaitting (Boychuk) age 78 of Delacour, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2013. She was born to the late Klym Boychuk and Caroline Olesik on May 18, 1934. Mary worked at Bow View Nursing home for 29 years where she loved her position as a cook. This may be where her love of taking care of others began. When Mary was physically able, she was an active member in the community frequently volunteering for bingos and charity events. Following her passion for cooking she volunteered many hours preparing and serving lunch for Sunday church service to those less fortunate. Family and friends were Mary’s passion and joy. She loved to cook and entertain and Sunday dinners were held faithfully. Mary loved to travel and spent time visiting places such Asia, Costa Rica; and most recently Cuba. Reading her favorite novels and watching her TV shows were a pass time she greatly enjoyed. Mary is lovingly remembered by her daughters Karen-Ann Cornett and Arlene (Gord) Hillier; honorary daughter Mary-Ann Bedford; grandchildren Joanna (Peter) Young, Theresa (Tyler) Matheson, Ryan (Cindy) Reid, Shane (Shelly) Bridger; great-grandchildren Braydon, Joshua, Ethan and Madison; and the many family and friends that loved her dearly. Mary is predeceased by her parents; husband George Kaitting; and granddaughter Lisa Cornish. Funeral Services will be held at Victory Outreach Church (1840 38 Street SE) on January 28, 2013 at 2:00 pm Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. The family wishes to thank all of the nurses and doctors at the Peter Lougheed Hospital that cared for Mary in her final days. Their compassion and care will never be forgotten.
