To Judy and the girls,Maureen and Fred
Our prayers are with you all.
John sounded like a million dollars in our conversation on Dec 17/12–just as he did at the opening of the Chapleau World’s Fair in 1939–and on so many other happy occasions since. It is difficult to accept that this year will be different.
We were sorry to read of Johns death. We treasure our memories of the fun times we spent with him and Judy when they lived on Lake Louise Way.

Dear Judy and Family – I am so sorry to hear of John’s sudden passing. I worked for John as a very young girl (18) and he was always so kind and patient with me. I will never forget his wonderful laugh and sense of humour. My brother Bill(Cosgrave) adored him and will miss him terribly. Please know I am thinking of you at this time.
With deepest sympathy, Judy Cosgrave Patterson
Dear Earl and Family,
My condolences on the passing of John. I very much enjoyed meeting and working with John over the years. He was always a gentleman and I know will be greatly missed by you and your family.
With sincere sympathy, Michael Hayduk
John always had a smile with a twinkle that seemed to suggest that – really, it was all going to be okay. We’ll always remember that as it was heartening. We are thinking of John’s whole family while they navigate through what must be an unexpected and unwelcomed load of emotions. Regardless of age – it would be nice if the great ones could stay around forever. John was a titan and his goodness reached far and won’t be forgotten. With hugs, Joanne and Dave
To Judy and all of John’s Family –
I am so saddened to learn of John’s passing. Judy, you know how much I enjoyed resurrecting old memories and old times with you and with John these past years at Maureen’s. I always remember John as an ethical and caring man whose wonderful sense of humor added to every meeting. His kindness and charm, along with his love of you and of his family, made him a real peach. As I am out of the country, I will be unable to attend John’s service, but please know that I am celebrating his life and sending you a personal hug. Bless you!
Dear Judy and family: We are stunned at the news of John’s passing. We can still see him and hear his voice. We know how much he has meant to each of you and we want you to know that he meant a great deal to us as well.
John had the gift of never feeling pessimistic or of showing uncertainty, but always he was positive, engaging and thoughtful .
What a kind man!
Susan and Earl, we are truly sorry for your loss! We are thinking of you and your entire family at this sad time and offer our support and prayers for all of you! XO
I am so sorry to hear of John’s passing. He was a warm and welcoming neighbour, and with Judy made my arrival in Calgary a pleasant one. My thoughts are with you all at this sad time, and may you gain strength from your fond memories of John.
Mrs. Burrows, Susan, Anne and Kelly:
Please accept my sympathies as you deal with the loss of your husband and father and all that he meant to you and your families.
