Obituary of Josip JUGOVIC

November 15, 1930 – December 29, 2012 Joe Jugovic, beloved husband of Eva Jugovic of Calgary, passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at the age of 82 years. Joe was born in Dolnji Kosinj Lika, Croatia. He grew up and worked in Pozega, Croatia and immigrated to Canada in 1958. He met and married his wife Eva in 1965 and they settled in Calgary. Joe worked at the Calgary General Hospital for twenty-five years. In his retirement he liked to swim, travel and work around the house. He was blessed with many life long friends in the Croatian community and we thank them for their love and support over the years. Joe was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed the simple things in life and spending time with family and friends. We will miss his good nature and sense of humour. Besides his loving wife of forty-seven years, Joe is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Nick and Sandy Jugovic and Joe and Grace Jugovic; four grandchildren, Maggie and Niko, and Nikki and Adrian. He is also survived by two brothers and a sister, Milan, Marko and Marica and their families. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Marija Bistrica Croatian Catholic Church (14680 Deer Ridge Drive S.E.) on Friday, January 4, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Mausoleum.
