Condolences
How we all loved our Uncle Bill. His sly sense of humor, quick wit and unique laugh still resonate in my mind and heart. One particular memory: When I was in elementary school, I was being bullied by another kid, Donald Edy. He would routinely push me to the ground and then sit on me. It was humiliating. On a visit to Lethbridge, I asked uncle Bill if he could show me how to protect myself from Donald. As most of you know, Bill was a Golden Gloves boxer, so he took me aside and showed me the boxer stance and how to deliver the “old one-two.” I was thrilled and felt invincible. The next time Donald approached me, I went into the stance with my “dukes up.” Donald stopped in his tracks, turned around and literally ran away. I didn’t have to throw a punch. From that point on I was never bothered by bullies, never threw a punch, and understood the power of self-confidence. Thank you Uncle Bill for changing my life and being there when I needed you. Love always, Paul
To you all … you are in our thoughts and we are remembering Bill and Shirley and how ‘at home’ they would always make us feel. They are at home together again.
Lots of love to you and your families. We wish we could be with you at this time.
