Obituary of Sandra Lee PATTERSON
October 12, 1960 – Calgary, Alberta
December 10, 2017 – Calgary, Alberta
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sandra (Sandy), daughter “extraordinaire”.
Sandy was a native Calgarian, and went to elementary school at Capt. John Palliser. She moved to Medicine Hat and continued her education at Crescent Heights High before moving back to Calgary to obtain her B.Sc. from the U of C.
Sandy was adventurous, travelling on her own to almost any place in the world. Her greatest adventure was with a group of people with the same travel bug as her; they became second family to her. Together they travelled Africa, from Morocco to South Africa, living on a bus for six months.
Sandy’s life was filled with unforgettable adventures, love and care. She was an inspiration to others when they saw her lifestyle.
Sandy is survived by her mother, Anne; father, George; brothers, David and Barry (Grace); aunts, Mary, Sonia (John), Elsie, Grace, Diane (Brad), Roselyn (Gary), all of Winnipeg; as well as nephews, Joseph Joe and Geoff. She is and will be missed deeply by her family, including her extended family from the (Gerba) group.
Many thanks to the Palliative Care Unit that assisted Sandy at home for the last 14 months.
