Obituary of Yvonne Aileen GRAY

May 21, 1928 – November 29, 2012 Yvonne Gray passed away on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at the age of 84 years. Born on May 21, 1928 in Calgary, Yvonne grew up in the Hillhurst area. She attended Crescent Heights High School and continued her education at the University of Alberta graduating with a BSc in Pharmacy in 1951. Yvonne married fellow pharmacy student George Gray at the Metropolitan United Church in Edmonton on September 13, 1952. In 1958 the Grays moved to Carstairs, AB, purchasing the pharmacy which became Gray’s Drug Store. In 1968 Yvonne set up the pharmacy in the Didsbury Hospital and continued work as the hospital pharmacist for twenty-five years, retiring in 1993. Yvonne spent many happy years in Carstairs. Vonnie’s life was enriched by community and church involvement, entertaining friends, spending time with family, especially at the cabin at Buffalo Lake. In 2003 Yvonne moved to Bassano, AB there she enjoyed being closer to Lynne’s family, attending Bassano Arts Council concerts and visiting with new friends at the lodge and in the community. Yvonne is survived by her children Lynne (Iain) Fraser, Carol (Dean) Borschneck, Don (Jan) Gray, and Allison (Mike) Malone her beloved grandchildren Scott and Ross Fraser, Cale, Sean, Rhys and Lee Borschneck, Trent, Colby, Samantha and Jessica Gray, and Anna Malone, her brother Robert Mosley of Nanaimo, B.C. and sister- in-law Mar Baird of Georgetown, ON. Yvonne was predeceased by her husband George; parents John and Anne Mosley; sister-in-law Dolores Mosley; brother-in-law Ed Baird and nephew Larry Mosley. A Celebration of Life will be held at Carstairs United Church (1204 Hammond Street, Carstairs, Alberta) on Tuesday December 4, 2012 at 2 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
