Obituary of Arthur John CAREY
January 9, 1926 – November 5, 2012
It is with deep sorrow that the family announce the peaceful passing of their eldest brother Arthur John Carey on November 5, 2012.
Art is survived by brother Sydney (Jean) of Australia, sisters; Valerie (Allan), Rosemary (Allan), Judith (Ron) and sister-in-law, Susan all of the UK, and many nieces and nephews. He will be remembered dearly by his many friends.
Art was predeceased by the love of his life for 34 years, Marjorie Alberta (Keen) on June 8, 2001. He always said he was grateful that Marj was not born in Saskatchewan. He was also predeceased by younger brother, Robert in December of 2011.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Dr. Kamilla Saieed, Dr. Claire Temple-Oberle and Dr. Sy Lam. Our heartfelt appreciation goes to Jenny and her team at Royal Park Care West for their exceptional, kind and compassionate care of Art.
A celebration of life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 275 (755 – 40 Street S.E., Calgary) on Monday, November 12, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Calgary Humane Society at donate@calgaryhumane.ca or by calling 403-723-6000. Inurnment will take place at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens in the Field of Honour at a later date.
