Obituary of Norman Arthur McKENZIE

October 9, 1933 – October 24, 2012 Norm McKenzie passed away peacefully after his hard fought battle with cancer ended on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 with his wife Lois by his side. People who did know Norm saw him as a rough and tough heavy duty mechanic, but to us he was so much more. He loved spending time with his horses and was even an accomplished cattle penner. Norm took great joy in spending time with his grandchildren. He taught them to fish and ride and when they were older showed them how to love and care for each other through his example. Norm will be dearly missed, and although he is gone, he will forever stay in our hearts as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and all around great man. “Happy Trails Granddad” Besides his loving wife Lois of fifty-five years, Norm is survived by his son Randy (Cherin); daughter Lori (David); grandchildren Travis (Jenny), Ryan, and Megan; great-granddaughter Shay; brother Don; and sisters Peg, June, Betty and Grace. Norm was predeceased by his son David. As per Norman’s request no service will be held. If friends so desire, donations can be made in Norman’s memory to Foothills Country Hospice, Box 274 Okotoks, AB T1S 1A5. In living memory of Norman McKenzie, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Fish Creek Chapel, 14441 BANNISTER ROAD S.E. Telephone: (403) 256-9575.
