Obituary of Marjorie Pauline McLEOD

1915-2012 Marjorie passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at the Beverly Center seniors residence. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Donald Alexander McLeod and her younger son John Robert of Calgary. She is survived by her son Donald and his wife Patricia of Winnipeg; her grandson Don III and wife Lyndsey of Strathroy, Ont. and great-grandchildren Asha (3)and Lincoln (1); and grandson Paul and wife Nancy of Winnipeg and great-grandchildren Raina (7) and Nova (3). Marjorie was schooled at the York School for Girls in Vancouver and after graduating became an X-ray technician at Vancouver General hospital until she married in 1944. After the War she and Don came to Calgary and she settled into the role of wife and life partner of an executive in the “oil patch”. She blossomed into an outstanding homemaker and mother as well as a wonderful cook. As a mom she was tough and tender in the appropriate proportions and always put her family ahead of herself. Marj had a wicked sense of humour which she has spread to all members of her family. She will be sadly missed. A Gathering to honor Marjorie’s life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W. Calgary, AB) on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
