Condolences
As Christmas approaches John was on my mind. As I didn’t receive a card from my fine Sgt. I searched his name and learned of his passing. John was a kind and caring man. I was blessed to have him as my Sgt. when we adopted our children in 1985. Ron and I are sorry for your loss. It seems to me that John really enjoyed his retirement and I know he loved his family.
With sympathy,
Cheryl (Pettigrew) and Ron Leyes

John Hibbert was a committed board member (and Board Chair) at Wood's Homes in the 1980's.
I met him when I came to work there in 1984. I will always remember his keen interest in our work with children struggling with all manner of mental health challenges...as well as his gentle smile.
Wood's Homes sends regards to his family.
Margaret and family, Wollene and I send our heartfelt condolences to you. In January 1960 on my very first working day, John walked me out for a half shift on 8 beat. He has been a friend ever since. He had a very prominent presence in Montgomery and Bowness after they were amalgamated in the early 60's. I remember attending a call for assistance in the Montgomery Community Association hall where there was a huge violent disturbance and John was seriously injured after being struck with a bottle. We have had the pleasure of joining him and Margaret at police related social events over the years since we both retired. He was a good man. Frank & Wollene Mitchell
Margaret and Family, I am sending my condolences to all of you. I visited with John twelve days before his passing and I am so glad to have seen him. He was a great boss when I was a School Resource Officer. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Bob Whitfield
I was saddened to hear of John's passing. John was one of the best Sergeants I ever had; he had an outstanding skill at managing people. I always appreciated him for his sense of humour, his honesty, integrity and common sense. He had some characters under his command, to put it mildly, but he handled us as if we were his own. Margaret, this is a voice from the past....it's Dale. Dianne and I are deeply saddened for you and your family. John was an outstanding man, and I am privileged to have known both you and him.
Sadly, an engaging, likeable human being with a tremendous zest for life has left us.
May you rest in peace, John.
Jon Netelenbos

My condolences on John’s passing. He was a good and honourable man and a friend to many, who left this world a better place.
I was so sorry to read of John's death. I know that John and Margaret were such a part of my parents' lives and can remember so many evenings that they shared together.
Please know that I respected and cared for both of you and hold you and the family in my heart and memories.
Gail
