Obituary of Jeanne Mary SHAW

1948 – 2012 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jeanne on Thursday, August 2, at the Foothills Hospital following a sudden illness. Jeanne will be fondly remembered and lovingly missed by her sister Susan Martin, brother-in-law Herb, nieces Jennifer Martin and Claire Schneider, nephew-in-law Wes, great nephews Hudson and Lincoln, special aunt and uncle Irene and Roy Slater, many cousins, as well as close friends and colleagues. Jeanne was predeceased by her parents Alan and Gladys Shred. Jeanne enjoyed spending holidays with family, regular coffee outings with friends and traveling. New experiences this summer included trips to Quebec City and Alaska. Throughout her life Jeanne has always been very passionate about the arts including theatre, dance and artwork and gave freely of her time in volunteering for Calgary Region Arts Foundation, Muttart Public Art Gallery and the Alberta Ballet. She also volunteered with various road races and marathons, Inn from the Cold, and the Alberta 4-Wall Handball Association. Jeanne’s educational achievements prepared her for a diverse career in Calgary, which began in academic and corporate libraries and advanced to positions in finance and banking. She thoroughly enjoyed her current position as Manager, Projects and Technology with CUPS Payment Services. Jeanne will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She enriched our lives. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.), on Monday, August 13, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In lieu of flowers, volunteer time or memorial donations may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta or Inn from the Cold.
