Obituary of Tim BANNISTER

BANNISTER, Tim January 3, 1960 – June 21, 2012 It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Tim Bannister, beloved husband of Susan Bannister. Tim was born in Calgary, Alberta on January 3, 1960, but grew up in Kimberly, BC. He then moved to Brooks, Alberta where he met Susan. They married on Valentine’s Day in 1981. Tim had a few careers in his short life and worked hard at all of them to give his family all the luxuries. Tim, Susan, and the girls moved to Cochrane, Alberta in 1990 and Tim operated TEB’s Appliance Repair for nineteen years. His most recent job was the Town of Cochrane where he enjoyed every day working with great friends. Tim loved his family and spent most of his time with them. Tim’s other love was hockey whether watching, playing or talking about it, he loved his Boston Bruins. Tim also enjoyed many years of playing ball with his mixed team the Chuckers and playing with the men’s teams the Coyotes and the Delinquents. Tim and Susan loved to travel and have been to many beloved spots. Tim enjoyed nothing more than his time in the sun and water with a cold drink in his hand. Tim enjoyed spending his summers camping with friends and families, especially at one of his favourite places in the world Echo Lake in Montana. Tim spent many years at the arena supporting his daughters Tanya and Kayla during their time in the Cochrane and Rockyford Ringette organizations. Tim is loved and survived by his wife Susan and his daughters Tanya (Jay and Julie), Kayla (Tyler) and the apple of his eye his granddaughter Jordan. His mother Jean Becker and his father Gord Bannister (Bell), brothers Jeff (Jane), Todd (Brenda), Jay (Penny), his aunt Judy, Debbie and many nieces, nephews, step brothers, step sisters and friends. Predeceased by his “Bubba” (Connie Brehmer), step father Vern Becker, Uncle Tom Davis and grandparents. Tim was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, son, uncle and a friend to all. Tim was one of the most generous people you could ever meet! He was always willing to lend a hand to family, friends or a complete stranger. You could always rely on Tim for a good laugh. The world is a sadder place without his infectious smile and laugh. A Celebration of Tim’s Life will be held at the Cochrane Arena (609-4 Avenue N., Cochrane, AB), on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
