Obituary of Florence Ethel QUANTZ

May 16, 1920 – June 4, 2012 Florence Ethel Quantz passed away peacefully on Monday, June 4, 2012 after a brief illness at the age of 92 years. She was born on May 16, 1920 in Innisfail Alberta; the only daughter of Victor and Ethel Green. Florence married William Quantz in 1938 and they moved to Calgary in 1943. Florence and William raised five children. Florence has been active in the Nazarene Church all of her life. She served as a Sunday school teacher and Missionary box work secretary for many years. Florence was always on the go whether in her garden or just out for a walk. She always had a smile and a great love for her family and her church. She was a true believer and gives us comfort knowing she is home at last, until we meet again. Florence leaves her sons Gordon and Dale (Kari), son-in-law Alfons Sage of Calgary, and a daughter Lora Lee Black (Kevin) of Mississauga; as well as 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 3 nieces and 2 nephews. Florence was predeceased by her husband William Quantz, a daughter Althea Sage, daughter-in-law Melina Quantz, son and daughter in-law Glen and Elsie Quantz, grandson John Quantz as well as her brothers Howard and Walter Green. ‘We will grieve not; rather find strength in what remains behind.’ Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Thursday, June 7, 2012 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Mountain View Memorial Gardens on Friday June 8, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Funeral Services will be held at First Church of the Nazarene (65 Richard Way S.W.) on Friday, June 8, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. We have sincere thank you for the dedicated staff at Southwood Hospice who were so kind and compassionate and made her last days very comfortable.
