Condolences
Dear Laura and Family,
We hadn’t seen Andrew since he and Naomi briefly attended playschool together in 1985 (?). He sounds like a remarkable young man whose short life was very full and meaningful. We’re very sorry for your loss.
We are sorry for your loss, Andrew was a very nice young man. We will continue to support CF & Cancer research.
Dear Laura, Ron and Stephan
I was so sad to hear of Andrew’s passing. My deep sympathy for your loss. Andrew’s visits at the peds CF clinic were always remarkable- he was such a fighter and took on his health challenges with such courage and a style of his own. I feel very blessed to have known him.
Laura, Ron & Stefan:
Mom called to let me know about Drew, I am so sorry I wasn’t there to celebrate his life, he was my first friend and I can remember many days playing on the swing set, first in your backyard and then in ours! Although we grew apart I’ll never forget my first and best friend! All my love!
Back when Andrew was born you soon learned that he was going to have a difficult life. His obituary also shows that it was very full and satisfying both for himself and those around him. The smile on his face in the picture says a great deal about the kind of person he became. It is always extremely difficult to lose a son or a brother but you certainly have many wonderful memories of your life as a family that will remain with you always. You know that many are thinking of you at this very difficult time. You definitely have our sympathy.

I feel so fortunate to have met Andrew-What an incredible young man he was. His strength and positive attitude was due to the unconditional love and support he received from his family. Laura, you have been such an inspiration to me throughout the years. Please except my sincerest condolences.
To the Read Family
A few years have passed since COP but my thoughts and prayers are go out to your family.

To The Read Family,
Please accept my most sincere condolences on the loss of your son, brother and friend.
I work in the outpatient department of the Tom Baker and LOVED seeing Andrew in clinic on Fridays.
He was so sweet and kind and ALWAYS had a smile on his face…even the last few times he came in and was in discomfort….always soo strong!!
I will miss seeing him and his warm smile.
May all the memories you have comfort you and give you strength through the difficult days.
Sincerely,
Diane Wells
I was very saddened to learn of Andrew’s passing from my brother-in-law Perry Jasson. Andrew and my sister, Judy, had shared the trials of chemo and the fight against cancer. He helped to keep her optimistic and for that I am forever grateful.
When I first met Andrew, I immediately noticed his bright smile but I will always remember him for his kindness and positive manner.
Andrew was a warm and wonderful person and I offer my deepest sympathy to all of you at this very difficult time.
Sincerely,
Sharon Kempa
We were crushed to hear of Andrew’s passing and offer our deepest sympathies to your family. Our hearts are with you.
On behalf of the Bruneau/Burden connection. I was so sorry to read that Drew had passed away. I remember Art playing hide and go seek with the youngsters and he enjoyed it so much. We used to join Art and M when John and D were visiting on skiing trips. My sympathy to all of you and my admiration for the work with Cystic Fibrosis.
Evelyn Bruneau Ross
Our heartfelt sympathy on Andrews passing. He certainly taught me how to make the perfect corners with my Christmas gift wrapping..but of course more than this he taught us all how to live life to the fullest.. maintain a positive attiude ..and make each day count.
Your family has given us strength through the years in coping with our grandson Ryan Richards struggles with Cystic Fibrosis and we hope to emulate your example of coping with the curves life throws you.
We want you to know our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Most Sincerely

Dear Laura,
I cannot believe that the little baby that was born when we taught together at Windsor Park School had grown into such a fine young man. Andrew’s story in the Herald touched my heart and it made me so happy to learn about all the amazing things that he has done in a too short lifetime. Your journey together is an inspiration to me!
Barb Foster
Your strength is amazing. Thank you for our visit yesterday. May you know that Rockey and I are sending prayers and hugs your way!
Dear Laura, Ron and Stefan,
We are very saddened to hear of your loss. What a remarkable young man you raised and such an inspiration to so many. Our heartfelt condolences to all of you during this difficult time.
Laura, Ron, Stefan and Barb,
I was so sad to hear about Andrew. It reminds me just how precious life is and how lucky I am. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
My family’s thoughts are with you Ron. Some wonderful tributes pouring in – a testament to not only Andrew’s character and qualities, but yours too.
I am so sad that you now will have a life without your first son. I cannot imagine what that must feel like. I certainly hope that Drew now exists in a place without pain and that perhaps he can ‘see’ you from afar. I send you my biggest hugs and best energy to help you cope in the days ahead . . .
Love, Jay
I was heartbroken to hear about Andrew. His presence at the Pediatric clinic was always a treat as his vigour for life was so infectious! When I have a bad day I think of him, then my problems don’t seem so big. He attacked life with true grit, humour and a big smile. He will always be remembered.
Dianne MacLean
(your former) CF pharmacist
Dear Laura, Ron,and Stefan.
It is with profound sadness we send this heartfelt message of support and understanding.
What a great photo of Andrew – that is the smile of someone who loved his life and grabbed hold of every opportunity, in spite of a life which often seemed against him!
And what a wonderful Mother’s Day gift -that he chose that day to leave you, both of you, with his love. It goes without saying that your lives were enriched by having him as your son.
He will be missed so much and thought of so often.
with sincere condolences,
Shauna, Murray and Kelly

So sorry to hear of your loss. I remember many years ago going to the “Y” on Northmount with Laura and Andrew, myself and my daughter, Nicole. This was back when you lived across from my Mom in Thorncliffe. Please accept my sincere condolences. Please also pass along my sympathy to your mom, Barb. I know this is such a sad time in your life. The many happy memories you have with Andrew will hopefully help ease the pain.
