Obituary of Anna STANTE

September 23, 1928 – April 21, 2012 Anna Stante, beloved wife of Adelmo, passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at the age of 83, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Anna was born in Fossacesia, Italy on September 23, 1928. She grew up on their farm with her two sisters and two brothers. Anna immigrated to Canada with her husband Adelmo in 1951. She worked as a cook at the “Isle of Capri” and later at the General Hospital. Anna was renowned for her cooking and baking and her generosity was unyielding. She loved gardening, attending aquasize and visiting with her many friends and family, but most of all she loved her children and grandchildren. Anna is survived by her daughter Marilyn Stante; sons, Luciano “Sano” (Minette), Domenic, and Glenn (Erika); eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her two sisters, Louisa Bussoli and Maria Menna. Anna was predeceased by her husband Adelmo; and two brothers, Pietro and Donato Giammarino. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church (400 Edmonton Trail N.E.) on Friday, April 27, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Mausoleum.
