Obituary of Mary Jean MITCHELL

May 30, 1922 –April 16, 2012 Jean Mitchell passed away on Monday, April 16, 2012, at the age of 89 years. Jean was born at Priddis, Alberta in 1922. She moved to Calgary at an early age and lived in the Ogden area. Jean was very devoted to her husband, Frank, her three sons, her father and her brother, Jim. Jean was a long-time employee at Sears Chinook, and was a long standing member of the Army Navy Air Force Ladies’ Auxiliary. Jean enjoyed many family get togethers, gardening, bike riding, playing catch, walking her dog, Nitro, and cuddling with her cat, Miska. Jean spent her final years at the Mackenzie Towne Retirement Residence where she made many friends. Jean is survived by her sons; Gordon (Diane) and Dale, her granddaughters; Bonnie (Henry) and Robin (Jordan), and great-grandchildren; Emiko, Akira and Kai. In addition, Jean has two other granddaughters; Monica and Rachelle and their families. Jean is also survived by her two sisters; Kath and Marg, and many nieces and nephews. Jean was predeceased by her husband, Frank and her son, Richard, as well as, her brothers; Robert, Jim, and Jack. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Center Street North Calgary, AB) on Today, April 19, 2012 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Center Street North. Calgary, AB) on Friday, April 20, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queens Park Cemetery. In lieu of flower, memorial donations may be made directly to the Foothills Country Hospice, Box 274, Okotoks, AB T1S 1A5.
