I loved Neil. He was my best friend Karen’s father. A second father to me when I was navigating my way through my teenage years. He was loving, respectful and kind. I remember listening to his guitar in absolute wonder. He taught me to play poker and drink rum and coke. Neil was funny in that dry way.
He included me in a long trip to Barbados with his children and changed my expectations of the world. Bigger, brighter, more!
There was only one man like Neil in this world. An absolute gift.
