Obituary of Barbara FETTERLEY
February 18, 1920 – March 9, 2012
Barbara Eva Merk (Eisworth) Fetterley passed away peacefully on Friday, March 9, 2012.
Born in Vibank, Saskatchewan on February 18, 1920, Barbara moved to Regina where she grew up and started her family. In 1950, Barbara moved to Calgary, where her life and family continued to grow, which includes being involved with many volunteer organizations, was an award winning gardener, an extraordinary seamstress and gave much of herself to helping others in need. In the last 62 years, Barbara has enjoyed spending time with her family and loved to watch them grow from three children to over 40 family members strong.
Barbara was predeceased by her husband Royal Fetterley, and survived by her daughter Charlotte (John) Wojtowicz and her sons Roger (Gloria) Eisworth and Grant (Bonnie) Eisworth. Barbara is also survived by nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren, and six great great-grandchildren. Barbara was predeceased by seven brothers and sisters and survived by two sisters, one brother and many, many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church (321 – 90th Avenue S.E.) on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens (17 Avenue S.W. and Springbank Road). Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. Thank you to Unit 46 at the Foothills Hospital and thank you to all the caregivers at the Fr. Lacombe Centre for all their loving care they provided mom in her three year stay with them.
