Obituary of Harry John STECH
February 15, 1935 – February 24, 2012
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our husband, father, brother and grandfather on Friday, February 24, 2012 at the age of 77 years, after a bravely fought, year long battle with cancer. He was surrounded by the family that was so important to him.
After a 32 year career with AGT/Telus he enjoyed his yard and garden and always found a new project to keep busy with. For the past 13 years he looked forward to going to work with his colleagues at the Calgary Citizens’ Appeal Panel. His family and friends will remember a remarkable man with great style, integrity, and who was quick with a quip or a joke. He had an ear for anyone who needed to talk and was ready with wise advice.
Harry is survived by his loving wife Dorina of 52 years, daughters Brenda and Michele (Daryel) and son Richard (Kathy) and the grandchildren he was so very proud of Madison, Alexa, Harrison, Stephen and Garrett. Harry is also survived by his brother Mike (Barb) Stech and his sister Mary (Barry) Johnston. He was pre-deceased by his father Stephen and his mother Christine.
Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church (321 – 90th Avenue S.E.) on Wednesday February 29, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. A special thanks to Dr. Lupichuk at the Tom Baker, and Dr. Roode, Dr. Pawlic and the staff at Unit 82 at the Rockyview for their outstanding care and kindness.
