Obituary of Marian BARANOWSKI

May 15, 1921 – February 22, 2012 Marian Baranowski of Calgary passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at the age of 90 years. Marian was born on May 15, 1921 in Sokolka, Poland. He served with the Polish army, attached to the 8th British Army. He arrived in Canada in 1947 and later met and married Jean, who predeceased him in 2004. Dad will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Donna Baranowski and Irene (Ed) Benedet; son Richard (Audrey) Baranowski; grandchildren, Jason (Erika) Benedet, Stacy (Sam) Nigrelli and Brad Baranowski; great-grandchildren Lexie, Isabel and Emerson. He will always be remembered for his unique sense of humour, and his compassion and sensitivity towards other people. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Santuari Hospice, located at the Peter Lougheed Centre.
