Obituary of Blaine H. BISHOP

April 29, 1916 – February 15, 2012 Blaine passed away on Wednesday, February 15, at the age of 95 at Wentworth Manor after a brief illness. Leaving to mourn his loss are his daughters, Betty (David) Marshall and Virginia (Heinz Jaroslawsky) Petersen; his grandchildren, Patrick (Maria) Petersen, Paul Petersen, Sean (Shirley) Marshall, Melanie (Greg) Rieveley, Jason and Briana Jaroslawsky; his great-grandchildren, Kyle, Hanna and Riley Petersen, Evan, Adam and Danielle Rieveley, Annalie and Isla Marshall. Blaine was predeceased by his beloved wife Blanche and his brother Blair (Bud). Blaine was born in Grassy Lake, lived in Burdett, Three Hills, Edmonton and Calgary. He was a veteran of World War II and worked in sales in the trucking industry until his retirement in 1971. Blaine excelled in sports including baseball, curling and golf. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, the Masonic Lodge and a Lifetime member of B.P.O.E. Calgary #4. At Blaine’s request, there will not be a funeral. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to all the staff at Wentworth Manor, the Court, for the love and care they provided him over the past 3 ½ years.
