Obituary of Esther SPEERS

October 3, 1926 – February 15, 2012 Esther Speers beloved wife of J. Alvin Speers of Calgary, passed away after a lengthy illness on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at the age of 85 years. Esther was born on October 3, 1926 in Maidstone, SK to Samuel and Magdalena Roth. Esther had a successful career with Alberta Government Telephones and Bell Telephone Company in Toronto and Galt, ON, before marrying J. Alvin on May 5, 1962 to become a dedicated homemaker and help mate in her husband’s varied businesses during their years together. Besides her loving husband J. Alvin Speers of forty-nine years and nine months, Esther is survived by sons Kelly and Craig (Irene); five grandsons; as well as by brother Herb of Yellow Knife, NWT. She was predeceased by her parents, and siblings, Edna, Ella, Ida and Herman. Funeral Services will be held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church (703 Heritage Drive S.W.) on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
