Obituary of Victor Ivankovic
January 7, 1942 –February 15, 2012
Victor Ivankovic, passed away suddenly on Wednesday February 15 2012 at the age of 70 years.
Victor was born in the small village of Hamzici, Bosnia Hercegovina on January 7, 1942. He immigrated to Canada in 1967 with his wife Vesna where he began his career as a gifted finishing carpenter and cabinet-maker known for his “golden hands”.
Victor will be remembered for his charm and for the love of his family, especially his grandchildren Tea and Ievan and his two faithful dogs, Cyrus and Kiko.
Victor is survived by his loving son John and daughter Caroline with son-in-law Martin, and his grandchildren Tea and Ievan. He is also survived by his brother Bob with sister-in-law Mariola, and brother Stanko as well as his brother-in-law Zarko with sister-in-law Branka; nieces Sandra, Sylvia and Viola and nephews Oliver, Mark and Philip.
Victor was predeceased by his loving wife Vesna, his infant son Robert and his brother Mate.
Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Marija Bistrica Croatian Church(14680 Deer Ridge Drive SE)on Wednesday February 22, 2012 at 9:00 a.m Graveside Service to follow at Queens Park Cemetery. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
