Obituary of Fu Chong LAI
January 24, 1924 – February 12, 2012
It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Fu Chong Lai in the company of her family on Sunday, February 12, 2012 at the age of 88 years old.
She was predeceased by her husband of 36 years, Yuen Wu. She was a loving mother to Alex (deceased) (Linda) and Lawrence (Jennifer) Wu and grandmother (Mah Mah) to Christina, Chester, Andrew and Patrick Wu.
Born on January 24, 1924, Lai grew up in Macau and in 1985 immigrated with her husband to Canada to be with her family. She spent the last 27 years spreading her love and kindness with both her family in Calgary and Vancouver. Although small in stature, she had the biggest heart. Lai enjoyed many simple things in life including good Chinese food, playing Mah Jong, but most importantly spending quality time with her family and friends. Her greatest pride in life was her family. One of her greatest pastime was sharing stories about her four grandchildren to friends and family. Her love and spirit will be missed by all of her loved ones. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at Millrise Place for the love and care they have provided for her over the past four years.
