Obituary of Chris M. WARKE
December 28, 1932 – February 12, 2012
Chris Warke, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2012 in Calgary, Alberta.
Chris was born on December 28, 1932 in the town of Notikewin, in southern Alberta. He received his B.Sc in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Oklahoma in 1962 and worked as an Operations Manager for several mid-sized oil companies in Calgary. For the last fifteen years of his career, Chris operated as an independent petroleum consultant for operators of wells throughout Alberta.
Chris is survived by his wife of 52 years, Joan (nee Sneath), son Andrew (Moira) Warke, and daughters Joanne (Ty) Hansen and Jane (Tim) Power. He is also survived by his four treasured grandchildren, Jordyn and Caeleigh Warke, and James and Bronwyn Hansen, as well as his adored grand-doggies, Brooklyn, Jack, Zak and temporary Monty. Chris also survived by his sister Ida Hehr and brother Jim (Gail) Warke, as well as several good friends.
Funeral Services will be held at the Church of the Good Shepherd (408 – 38 Street S.W.) on Monday, February 20, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends so desire, donations can be made to either the Scouts Canada (Chinook Council) or the Church of the Good Shepherd.
