Obituary of Robert Austin PERKINS

November 9, 1941 – Cochrane, Alberta February 1, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta Robert (Bob) Perkins beloved husband of Carol Perkins for fifty-two years and loving father to Cameron (Nanette) and Kimberly passed away on Friday, February 1, 2019 at the age of 77. Robert was a devoted husband, dad and grandfather. He was raised north west of Cochrane where he resided until he was eighteen years old. Nine years after Robert and Carol were married they bought their acreage that was two miles away from where Robert grew up. He had a knack for figuring things out and was able to fix almost anything. When he was at home he was always outside doing something. Robert worked hard to support his family. Some of the jobs that he had included: the Calgary School Board, opening and operating the Fas Gas in Cochrane, and working for Rockyview school division until he retired at the age of sixty-five. He was extremely proud of his grandchildren and will be dearly missed by all of them; Austin (Tasha), Lee, Dakota, Morgan, and Tanner. They will always share many happy and fond memories of the amazing man they called “Poppa”. Robert’s sense of humor, kind heart, and sharp quick wit will always be cherished. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered. Funeral Services will be held at St. Andrew’s United Church () on Friday, February 22, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bob’s memory to Friends of Kananaskis Country at . The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Sharma and the staff at Dulcina Hospice, as well to Pauline and the team at Cochrane Community Health. Their kindness and care will never be forgotten.
