Obituary of John Frederik PARDER
August 2, 1923 – February 6, 2012
John Parder born 1923 in Copenhagen, Denmark, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 6, 2012 at the age of 88 years.
As a Chemical Engineer, John was a pioneer in the Natural Gas industry working for Gulf Canada for 35 years where he designed allocation procedures for one of Alberta’s biggest Natural Gas Plant, Rimbey. He will be remembered for his contagious laugh, off the wall sense of humor, and his passion for music, drawing, painting, hiking, and for hand crafted projects (particularly known for his homemade camper completed in 1967 and his contribution to the construction of the Sopwith Triplane now housed at the Aerospace Museum in Calgary).
He is survived by his loving wife Gale, four children Carey, Craeg (Trish), Vance (Bonnie), and Carellyn (James); seven grandchildren Alison, Janine, Jordan, Nicole, Lauren, Arron and Josh, and one great-grandchild Georgette.
A Celebration of John’s life will take place at Woodcliff United Church (5010 Spruce Drive S.W.) on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
