Obituary of David John CORNER

January 1, 1922 – February 5, 2012 David Corner of Calgary, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2012 at the age of 90 years. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 60 years, Muriel on November 30, 2010. Dave was born in Wick, Scotland New Years day, 1922. At the age of 3, he and his mother immigrated to Canada, joining his father on the farm in Vulcan, Alberta. In 1942 he enlisted in the RCAF, serving overseas as a radar operator. After the war, he was employed as an electronic technician, first at Eatons, then at AGT, retiring after 25 years of service. Throughout his life he was an avid ham radio operator (VE6JC). Dave is survived by his younger sister Marjorie Nafziger of Vulcan, three children and their families; Bob (Asami) and Grant Corner; Jim (Jan) Matt (Nicole), Scott and Alanna Corner; Barb (Rolf) and Toni Wietgrefe. He is also survived by his great-grandson, Kaden Corner, Anissa Lang (Alena), and Dean Lang. Funeral Services will be held at St. Laurence Anglican Church (5940 Lakeview Drive S.W.) on Thursday, February 9, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
