Dear Dorothy and family,
Sincere condolences on your loss. I so appreciate all the work Doug did on the Hawkes family tree, as well as the few e-mails we shared following the loss of Uncle Bob Hawkes in Parksville last summer. I hope the Hawkes family will continue to update the website Doug created with the help of Peggy Gish on ancestry.com.
Dorothy, keep your good humour… sending you all love and hugs from Toronto,
Terri Hawkes and family
Dear Dorothy and family:
We are deeply saddened to learn of the loss of Doug. We have very fond memories of many years of warm friendship in our church communities and more recently in the Air Crew Association. What a great Canadian! You have been blest to have journey life’s road together. Our prayers are with you in these challenging days. God bless you.
Dear Dorothy, We were so sorry to read about Doug’s passing. He was such a great human being and will be missed by all. Our prayers and thoughts are with you and your family at this sad time. Even though I won’t be there in person my heart and thoughts will be with you on the 14th. Please take care of yourself! A big hug from both of us.

Dear Dorothy,
I’m just sitting here with Francie talking about the good times that you shared. She wants to let you know that she is thinking about you at this time and knows what a huge loss it is that he is gone.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Doug, you taught me the importance of family history through your geneology work, in fact every time I open up my Ancestry.com account I think of you. Your laughter and jovial nature will be missed and never forgotten. God Speed!
We will remember Doug with a smile and
will miss him very much.
Dorthy,
I extend my deepest sympathy to you and all your family on the passing of your husband. Although Doug’s service to his country in the RCAF preceded mine by several years, I felt a kindred spirit to him and feel honoured to have known him.
He will be remembered.
Sincerely,
Dick Kiser.
One only needs to have met Doug’s sons to understand the positive, loving and caring manner that he bestowed upon his sons.
We only had the chance to meet Doug once, and the above was confirmed.
Our deepest and heart felt condolences.
Gwen & Ambrose
