Obituary of Catherine BOYES

August 17, 1925 – February 02, 2012 It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of our beautiful mother Catherine. She passed away peacefully with dignity and grace. Survived by her children Bill (Margaret), Mary, Mona Boyes-Lentz (Gordon), Stella Snethlage (Peter), Angela Auger, Michael (Debbie), Jean-Paul (Darlene), and fourteen grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Anna Hambling of Nanton, Ellen McGuire of Calgary and her brother Bill (Mable) English who live in Inuvik, NWT. Born and raised in Calgary, she attended St. Mary’s Girls School and worked in the oil industry retiring from Total Petroleum in 1986. She loved the mountains and the summers with her family in Radium Hot Springs. Catherine lived with gentleness, eternal optimism and the gift to see the goodness in everyone. We will miss her strength, courage and ability to make everyone feel special and loved. Rest in peace dear Grandma. A private family service was held on Monday, February 6, 2012. Our family would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the staff at Medi-gas in Calgary and if friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Catherine’s name can be made to the Mustard Seed in Calgary or the Alberta Lung Association.
