Obituary of Filomena ARDOLINO

April 17, 1942 – January 25, 2012 It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Filomena Ardolino after a courageous battle with cancer, with her family by her side on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at the age of 69 years. Filomena was born April 17, 1942 in Marigliano, Napoli, Italy. She immigrated to Calgary in 1965 and was joined shortly after by the love of her life, Luigi. Filomena and Luigi were married in Calgary on September 3, 1966. She worked as a Baker for thirty-two years at Mrs. Williams and the Co-op Bakery. Filomena retired in 1999 to become a fulltime Nonna and care for her grandchildren. For her this was the best job ever. Filomena was a great cook. She took great pleasure in cooking for her family and friends and was happiest surrounded by those she loved. Filomena loved to share her cooking and her kindness will be missed by all those she touched. Filomena lived for her family. Her grandchildren brought her great joy and kept a smile on her face. Filomena is survived by her loving husband Luigi; her son and daughter-in-law Giuseppe (Joe) and Tammy; grandchildren, Lucus and Kaylie; sisters, Giuseppina LaMontagna and Maria (Francesco) Ardolino; sister-in-law Anna (Domenico) Esposito of Calgary; and numerous nieces and nephews. Filomena will be fondly remembered by many family members in Italy and Australia. She was predeceased by her parents Francesca and Raffaele Esposito; brother-in-law Pasquale LaMontagna; and sister-in-law Rosetta Ardolino.
