August 5, 1926 – January 23, 2012 Angiolino Mastrofrancesco, beloved husband of Lucia, of Calgary, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 23, 2012 at the age of 85 years. Angelo was born in Sepino, Campobasso, Italy, on August 5, 1926. His early years were spent on the farm working alongside his family. Angelo’s quest for adventure and his desire for a better life brought him to Canada in 1951. Arriving in Halifax he made his way to Montreal, eventually heading west. Employment lured him to the Alcan Aluminum plant located in Kitimat, and later the coal mines of Drumheller. He spent many years as an iron worker, contributing to the building of Calgary’s downtown. In 1961, he married his life partner Lucia, starting a family and calling Calgary home. Angelo was a passionate outdoorsman who spent many days hunting, camping, and fishing. Angelo enjoyed his retirement years spending them outdoors and traveling, but time with his grandchildren was his greatest joy. Angelo is survived by his loving wife of fifty years, Lucia; his daughter Antonietta (Gary Malin); his son Gino (Kristin Clark); and his grandchildren, Jana Malin, Lucas Malin, and Massimo Mastrofrancesco. Angelo is also survived by his sisters, Marietta Zeoli (Nick) and Elisa Petrillo; his sister-in-law Antonietta Mastrofrancesco; and his father-in-law Angelo-Maria Pezzente of Italy. Angelo was predeceased by his sister Maria; his mother Antonia; brother Epifanio Mastrofrancesco; his father Giuseppe; his brother-in-law, Carmine Petrillo; and his mother-in-law Antonietta Petrillo.
