Dear Edith and family,
We are so sorry to hear of Syd’s death. I often think of you when I look across the street. We had some fun times. The other day I remembered the time we wore our cowboy hats and handed out donuts for Peter Baden. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.
Rosamonde and Rod McKay
Our sympathies (Marina and Leroy) go out to you Edith at this time. Both you and Sid have had your trials with his Parkinsons but there is a future> I always admired Sid for leaving a good paying job and going back to University for an Engineering degree. He sure had fortitude. Remember our times together in Red Deer? It was a good group to work and play with. Sid was a great influence in pushing inovation in the Industry and will be missed by those who worked with him in his consulting services. I can’t make the funeral due to a deep chest cold but am with you in Spirit. Leroy
Dear Edith, Gordon, Laurie and family.
I was shocked to learn of the the passing of your husband, your father and my good friend and my one time business partner.
From my very first meeting with Syd in 1972 to the very last time he and I spoke in the fall of 2011, I have always enjoyed our times together and conversations.
Syd was straight forward, honest, hard working, kind, considerate and above all a true gentleman.
Like you, I will miss him dearly.
Sincerely,
Martin Jevans, White Rock, B.C.
Dear Edith(Jo),Gord & Joanne, Laurie & families. Syd was a great inspiration to us all; his determination and quiet humor will always be remembered. As well I will always remember being put on the light post & the goose hunting trips. You and Syd were a special part of my parents’ life, true friends. Syd was as good a friend as a friend can be and will be sorely missed. You are all in our thoughts.

Edith and family:
Our thoughts are with you at this especially difficult time. One can never fully prepare.
Going to miss the talks, chuckles and especially the sharing of ‘treats’ with Syd – he will be warmly remembered.
Dear Edith, Gord, Laurie and family,
I’m truly saddened to hear about your loss. I have so many fond memories of the times our families spent together while I was growing up. I wanted to let you know that I am thinking of you at this difficult time.

Dear Edith and Family,
I was inspired to work with Syd when he attended the Parkinson’s singing group.
He exuded energy and a compassion to continuously learn.
I remember seeing him at a recent Revv52 concert. He left a lasting impression on me and I am so grateful to know him.
with love,

My deepest sympathy to all
I have many great memories of Syd especialy when we were young. He was always a gentelman, even when we played the Clive School version of soccer. Ican still see Syd sitting on the ground grinning at me after I bodychecked him and took away the ball. I was smaller then. He was a great guy.
Love Dennis
I have so many wonderful memories of Uncle Syd. As a young boy I remember meeting up in PEI and enjoying the New Glasgow lobster suppers. In Florida, he asked me to dive into the pool to recover his false teeth from the bottom. At the cottage on Sylvan Lake I fondly recall the games, stories, and trips down to the beach. On winter visits to Alberta Uncle Syd taught me to pack sleeping bags in the car for the drive to Clive. Just in case we were stranded on the side of the road. He was always prepared.
More recently, on my business trips to Calgary I would always swing by for a game of snooker. He never let me win one. His competitive spirit was always strong but you never noticed because he was the classiest act around.
Uncle Syd, I will miss you, but I will never forget you! I will always try to be the man to my family that you were to yours. Cheers!
Love John, Brenda, Jacob, Tyler and Gavin…. XO forever

Our thoughts are with you during this time. We have so many warm and funny memories of Uncle Syd. Good times and lots of laughs especially with the made up silly songs and at the cabin at Sylvan Lake. He was a great uncle and we will miss him.
