I remember Don Taylor from when I started in Madagascar. He was very friendly to us guys on our first over seas job back in 85 he was very nice to us and made us feel comfortable rest in peace Don

I suddenly had a weird feeling and something made me google Don’s name. 4 years too late i find this condolence site and am so very very sad to read of his passing. I worked with Don at Bawden Drilling in Aberdeen, he was a lovely man, so funny, intelligent, full of life and very much respected. Sincere condolences to his family and friends. Rest in peace Don.

Bawden Drilling created many a character , Don was supurlitive in his mission. To-day he could walk in to my home in Mexico and a plate would be set . Yes had a colorfull witt , unassuming bumbling personality which so contridicted the stereo type of oil trash .

Many a night we’ve burned the candle .

Jill S, Jill T, Brad and Rose, I was sorry to first learn of Don’s illness late last year, but never dreamed we would lose him this quickly. While I have not seen Don in a number of years, we remained faithful about speaking with each other on our birthdays every year and that meant a great deal to me. What an incredible individual he was and how blessed I am to have called him my friend. I admired and loved Don’s zest for life and we always laughed that he was the one person I knew who would say “I wish I would have done ____ (fill in the blank)”, as he always seized the day and did them. He touched so many lives and we are all so lucky to have known him. My sincere condolences to you all for our loss of this remarkable man who was loved by so many.

Jill & I were so sorry to hear of Don’s passing.

We met Don many years ago during the Bawden era. I must say he had a profound impact on me both personally and professionally and although our paths did not cross in recent years, we thought of him often.

Throughout many years in many different countries we would run into Don. He was always a friendly face in an unfamiliar country. Being a fellow Maritimer it was so nice to see someone from home. Don will be greatly missed by us all. Our heartfelt sympathy to his family.

Although our paths in life diverged many years ago, my memories of Don during my days with the Bawden/Noble group, are of an adventuresome individual with an unwaivering positive outlook on life. The world is now a worse place for the passing of Don. Had not seen him since we visited Paphos three years ago, and he was then (as always) in great form. Cheers Don – will be raising a drink to you frequently.
