Obituary of Dana William MOORE

July 3, 1954 – December 29, 2011 We are saddened to announce the sudden passing of Dana Moore on Thursday, December 29, 2011. He passed away while doing one of the sports he loved, cross country skiing. Dana was born on July 3, 1954 in Assiniboia, SK. After graduating from high school, he joined the Canadian Forces. In 1980 he married Heather Gunn and they had three sons, Sean, Kyle and Graeme. In the Canadian Forces he achieved PEng and MSc designations. He lived in many different locations and retired in 1996. He found work in Calgary and moved his family to Airdrie in 1998. Dana had a passion for swimming and spent many years coaching the Swim club for the Special Olympics in Airdrie. He also loved working with wood and he was a true farmer in every sense of the word. Dana enjoyed reading in his quiet moments. Dana and Linda were married January 8, 2011. They spent many happy times on the berry farm and travelled to many sunny locations. Dana is survived by his wife Linda Olliver; his mother Sylvia; and three sons, Sean, Kyle (Dallas) and Graeme; three stepchildren, Craig (Lisa) Raes, Dallas (Brad) McCaulloch and Layton Raes; five step-grandchildren, Keegan, Chase and Makai Raes and Kali and Boston McCaulloch. Dana is also survived by brothers, Dennis (Sandy) Edmonton and their children, Terry, Tracy and Alex, Deryck Vancouver, a sister Donna (Gary) Boehm Vancouver; and a sister- in- law Hallie Moore. He was predeceased by his father Howard and brother Dean.
