Obituary of Bernice LOSIER-LONG

September 22, 1958 – December 20, 2011 After a brave and unrelenting battle with ALS, Bernice Marie Losier-Long of Calgary passed away Tuesday, December 20th, 2011 at the age of 53 years. Born in Tracadie-Sheila, New Brunswick, Bernice was a longtime resident of Calgary. For the past twenty years she was employed with Russel Metals Inc., most recently in the position of Credit Manager. She was loved by all who knew her through her many acts of kindness, wisdom, generosity, warmth and sense of humor. She was a talented cook, a caring mother, a loving wife and held a special fondness for family, the outdoors and travel. Her presence will be dearly missed. Bernice is survived by her loving husband, Ron Long and two beautiful daughters, Sarah, 22, and Alex, 15. Bernice was part of a large supportive family of eleven children including four sisters – Micheline Losier (Louise Lapointe), Montreal, Ginette Losier (Jean-Marie Robichaud), Gatineau,QC, Claudine Robichaud (Oneil), Tracadie-Sheila, NB and Joanne Lefort (Gordon), Oakville, ON, and five brothers, Claude (Elda) and Guy (Micheline) of Tracadie-Sheila, NB, Yvon (Yvette Arseneault) of Iqaluit, NT, Mauril (Debbie) of Mississauga, ON and Daniel of Calgary, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister Melita and her parents Azade Losier and Rosanna (Hache). Bernice is also survived by her father-in-law Dennis Long and brother-in-law Gary Long (Beth) and family of Calgary. A Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
