Condolences
I had the pleasure of being able to call Jim my Father in law. Even though i didn’t get to see him as much as would have liked to he was the definition of what a farmer is. He had a sense of humour loved to talk to me about airplanes all the time. God Bless you Jim and it’s not good bye but until i see you again
In regard to Jim Griffith I express my sincere condolence. Jim and I were friends for many years and then lost track of each other – for which I am sad. I first met his Dad and Mother when I was about 11 years old under some unusual circumstances. Sim Van Wyck of the -7 Ranch was taking me for the first time to his ranch for several weeks – after our hosteling experiences there. It rained and his car was stuck in the gumbo just outside the Griffiths. In his gruff manner he said he would stay the night with them and I should walk the few miles – in the dark. I got there and informed his wife Helen then went back in the morning with the hired hand and a low wagon – and found the road DRY. It was then that I met Jim’s wonderful parents. Later I met Jim and Doris and then their new family. We had the great pleasure in keeping my horses down there and had an area fenced off on the lower level right beside the creek for our trailer! Those and following years were of great pleasure to me and my family and Jim’s friendship was truly valued. We later moved west of Bowden and contacts were lost – unfortunately. I am 88 and approaching 89 and I have found memories – at times flood in on me – and I cannot turn the clock back. FAREWELL MY FRIEND
