Gordon was born in Halifax Nova Scotia and was raised in Cape Breton with his 5 brothers and 1 sister. Together they had a wonderful childhood playing on the beach and fishing for clams and lobsters in the harbour. Gord was a respected claims analyst for many insurance firms throughout his 40+ year career. In 2010 he finally retired from Dominion of Canada as the senior analyst in charge of Western Canada. Gord enjoyed many hobbies and was an avid fisherman spending many summers with his family and friends at his favourite fishing spot, Dee Lake. Coming from a very musical family, Gord and his brothers would jump at any opportunity to get together and play family musical favourites until the wee hours of the morning. He also played drums in a country band called the Corral #9 Medicine Show and was often hired to play various locations around Calgary during stampede week.
