Condolences
Len was patient at my dental office and I enjoyed talking with him about hiking.
He was keen to hike the Devil’s Thumb and thanks to him I know where that prominent rock formation is. When Bill and I finally get to Devil’s Thumb we will be thinkin of him.
Mickey: We have fond memories of Len attending bridge classes and birding trips as well as chance meetings with you and Len at St Luke’s. He was a true gentleman and we will miss seeing him at St Luke’s.
It was a pleasure to hike & ski with Len because of his always most very pleasant nature. I will miss seeing him on the trails .
Dear Micky and family:
I was saddened to hear of Len’s passing. Lyle Sharko called me yesterday, December 9th, and informed me. As you know, I worked with Len with the Dept. of Labour in Edmonton for a number of years. Len was a mentor and a friend. We shared many good times together and although I have not had any contact with Len over the last number of years, We talked of him often when I met with Joe and Lyle in Kelowna.
May “God hold Len in the palm of His Hand” and comfort you and your family during this trying time

Micky, am so sad to hear that Len has passed away. I remember the fun of sharing a table with you and Len at the Norsemen fall party so many years ago and the many hikes and skis that Len shared his gentle humour and love of nature with us. I will miss him and send you my heartfelt sympathy. Cheryl
It was always a pleasure to see Len in the parking lot at the beginning of a skiing or hiking trip. He always greeted you with a big smile, and when he asked how you were, you always felt that he really wanted to know. We will miss his gentle, affable presence. Our sincere condolences to Mickey and family.
Deepest condelences to Micky and family on the passing of dear Len Cissell. Len was a caring, intelligent and respectful man. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him in the Crowfoot 50+ Coffee and Conversation group. Our hearts and prayers are with you, Micky.

To Len’s family,
I am so sorry to hear of Len’s passing. I have many fond memories of Len on the hiking trails. He was such a kind and gentle man. He will be missed by many.
My sincere condolences to you.

I am very sad to hear about Len’s passing. I did not know that he was sick or I would have visited him in both the hospital and the hospice.
I enjoyed hiking & skiing with Len and the thing I remember most about him is that he always looked so dabber. Being in the clothing business, I notice these things and I always had occassion to compliment Len on how well he wore his clothes. But then again, given his charming personality, perhaps it was the Man and not the clothes.
All of us in both the hiking & ski club will miss Len. My deepest empathy and sympathy to Michalene and the family.
Len enjoyed a long and adventurous life.
He will be missed.
Best wishes

I have many, many fond thoughts and memories of working with Len at Labour Canada and later with HRDC. I believe that Len is now in Heaven with the angels, and, that Heaven is a better place now with him being there. Please accept our sincere condolences with Len’s passing.
Dear Micky,
It is with great sadness I learned of the passing of your precious husband Len. I shared numerous hiking trips with Len and will always remember his perpetual smile, his gentle voice and his love of nature. He was a true “gentleman”. May God give you strength and courage as you move forward with your life.
Blessings, Thelma Wagner
I had the good fortune to share Len’s amiable company on many, many hikes with the Calgary Weekend Hikers over the past 25 years or so. He was one of the most decent, good-natured people I have ever known. Those of us who had the pleasure of knowing Len, and hiking with him in Alberta’s great out-of-doors, will miss him greatly. My wife Barbara and I send our condolences to Mickey and all the family.
