Condolences
I have fond memories of George and I know he will be greatly missed by family and friends of such a loving father. When I met George and Peggy and the entire family in the late 1970’s I knew that family and community were at the heart of their home and George was a soft kind loving father and always there for everyone. George gave me a double breasted jacket and 2 very classy ties as a gift when I stayed the weekend – hand me downs for sure but you can’t go wrong with a classic so I was very greatful! I was amazed how perfect the jacket fit me…I wore that jacket and those ties well into my 40’s and never forgot his kindness and my fond memories of the family home in Glenora, Edmonton. I am sure George is still playing golf every morning and enjoying his morning coffee with Peggy watching their family grow from heaven.
Great memories of my childhood with the Montgomery children in the Glenora neighborhood. Street hockey, kick the can, etc. George and his wife truly had an open door to the neighborhood kids. Sad to hear about this.
My sincere sympathies to all of the family – George was one of the most friendly and outgoing people I have ever known and he will be missed by all of us. May God in his mercy give peace and comfort to the family as the days go by
Sincerely, Wayne Smith
Our sincere sympathies to the Montgomery family
George hired me in 1955 at GMAC Calgary, he was the Credit Manager at that time. He again hired me at GMAC Edmonton in 1980, he was then the Branch Manager.
I have great memories, he was a great manager and friend.
