Janet Elizabeth CHRISTIE

Obituary of Janet Jan Elizabeth CHRISTIE

May 21, 1948 – November 23, 2011 With deep sadness we announce the passing of Jan who fought a long and courageous battle with cancer. She leaves her loving husband and best friend Wayne Christie of Priddis. They shared many happy years travelling, golfing and sharing an abundance of friends. Jan had a dry wit that emerged in many poems. She will be fondly remembered for the poems she composed for the golfing ladies at Priddis. Jan was a devoted and committed elementary school teacher for nearly thirty years. She proudly created the “Christie Way”; the kids knew exactly what to do and they loved the structure. Jan was a loyal and true friend who had a wonderful manner and ability to develop long lasting friendships. She touched the hearts of many people and developed many special friends over the last eleven winters spent in Tucson. Jan is survived by her loving husband Wayne; her mother Megan Ablett; her brothers, John (Patricia), Jeff (Sharon) and James (Patti); and sister Judy (Les); as well as many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Jan’s Life will be held at Red Deer Lake United Church (West on Highway #22x past Spruce Meadows) on Friday, December 16, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
